Before The Show: Antonio Marras Fall/ Winter 2019-20.
Imagine entering an artist’s studio. A little ‘living room, a little’ industrial space, a loft, a shop, a workshop, a factory, a space of the soul. There are worn couches, ruined day beds, broken armchairs, clogged chairs and lots of stools. There are blankets, shawls, scarves and drapes. There are desks, tables and counters. There are paintings on the walls, stacked on the walls, on the easels and on the benches. There are large windows from where light filters, so much dust is thick and suspended. There are stained sheets of coffee, old newspapers, yellowed photographs and letters, lots of love letters. There are palettes, brushes, colors. Tempera, pencils, wax crayons and chalks. Many and all arranged in cups, jars, pots and glasses chipped.
This was the scene inside the Antonio Marras atelier transformed into an artists studio from the early 1900s. Take a look at the lovely chaos, beautiful sets, and get a close look at the beauty and fashion photographed right before the show.
