She’s in Toronto promoting her new film.
Everyone whose anyone is in New York right now. Everyone except Amandla Stenberg who jettisoned from New York to Toronto to promote her latest film The Hate You Give.
The film revolves around Starr (Amandla Stenberg) who witnesses the fatal shooting of her childhood best friend Khalil at the hands of a police officer. Now, facing pressures from all sides of the community, Starr must find her voice and stand up for what’s right.
The film features an amazing supporting cast including Russell Hornsby, Regina Hall, Common, Issa Rae, and Algee Smith. At the Toronto Film Festival The Hate You Give was viewed to critical acclaim by a select audience on September 7th, and Stenberg was present to get the very first reactions.
In addition to the film premiere at the Toronto Film festival the powerful leading lady has another project currently in theaters titled The Darkest Minds.
