Hunger Games star Amandla Stenberg takes the lead in a new Young Adult book-to-film adaptation in Hollywood called The Darkest Minds and from what we can see from the film trailer it will be another hit for the movie star.

Amandla Stenberg’s last leading film, a teen romance titled Everything, Everything, with co-star Nick Robinson, took in over 60 Million dollars and garnered Amandla rave reviews. It solidified her as a compelling actress and a box office draw.

Her latest film, The Darkest Minds synopsis says: “When teens mysteriously develop powerful new abilities, they are seen as a threat by the government and sent to detainment camps. Sixteen-year-old Ruby (Amandla Stenberg) soon escapes from her captors and joins other runaways who are seeking a safe haven. Banded together and on the run, they soon combine their collective powers to fight the adults who tried to take away their future.” 

The Darkest Minds is directed by Jennifer Yuh Nelson and also stars Mandy Moore and Gwendoline Cristie.
