To our surprise FKA Twigs launched a new music video on IGTV. IGTV (Instagram TV) is the latest video feature on Instagram’s social media platform. The difference between IGTV and Insta-stories is the new feature allows for longer video segments. FKA Twigs used the new service to share a music video documentary of her recent experience in the hospital.

In December FKA Twigs underwent laparoscopic surgery to remove 6 fibroid tumors from her uterus. The IGTV video shows her weak and bandaged body post-operation mixed with recovery clips of her pole dancing and sword fighting to regain her strength.

I am a very private person as u all know and I have gone back and forth in my mind whether to share that this year I have been recovering from laparoscopic surgery … I tried to be brave but it was excruciating at times and to be honest I started to doubt if my body would ever feel the same again. I was so scared, (and) despite lots of love from friends and family I felt really alone and my confidence as a woman was knocked.

The music in the video is an FKA Twigs original. The singer/ songwriter croons a soft lullaby about self acceptance and not being perfect. It is a sad and beautiful melody with a memorable chorus.
