“Wakanda Forever”! If you haven’t seen the new black panther film I highly recommend you do, it is incredible. And the general population seems to agree with me because directing newcomer Ryan Coogler’s superhero comic book movie Black Panther held the number 1 spot at the box office for five straight weekends. That hasn’t happened since “Avatar” which led for seven weeks in 2009 and 2010.

If that isn’t enough milestone crushing information, I’ve got more. Black Panther also passed Star Wars: The Last Jedi’s domestic total of $619 million in 2017, Black Panther posted $631 million at the domestic box office. And, Black Panther passed the $1 billion mark at the global box office in just 26 days, it’s had a worldwide gross of $1.23 billion. This makes Marvel’s Black Panther the highest-grossing superhero movie in the United States.
People are responding to the Black Panther film because of its diversity and the novelty of a fresh story. It has sparked worldwide attention for the beauty of its nearly all black cast, their amazing performances and the comic book movie’s inspirational adaptation of the fictional African nation,Wakanda. Wakanda is so attractive because it is the fantastic imaginings of an African nation untouched by colonial influence.
Chadwick Boseman stars as the leader of the Wakanda nation and the film’s Black Panther super hero alongside Angela Bassett, Forest Whitaker, Lupita Nyong’o, Danai Gurira and Michael B. Jordan.
It’s still in theaters, go see it!
