The French girl haircut is the collarbone-length, slightly A-line, layered cut with a bébé bang. It is a generational hair style that flows in and out of favor. Right now it’s flooding the streets of Paris and having a moment at New York Fashion Week.
The look appeared on a model at the Ph5 presentation on Thursday, February 2nd. PH5 is a locally celebrated knitwear brand known to challenge the conventional by marrying whimsical design with architectural knitwear techniques.
For their fall/ winter 2018-19 presentation, Cutler Salon NYC styled the models tresses into the French girl haircut. Sebastian, the director of the salon, wasn’t able to cut each models hair but he ingeniously worked the strands into a beautiful faux-bébé bang.
