If you were a fan of “That 70s Show” then you’ll appreciate the irony of the leisure suit presented by Trussardi for Spring 2017.
It was a nice touch to show the versatility of the suit on both a male and female model. The striking picture of the female model sitting, rolling her cuff, forces you to pause and to study the relaxed trouser and shirt-like blazer, and acknowledge the unquestionable elegance on both figures.
Thankfully the ruffled lace, popular in the 70s, was replaced with a flat ruffle in silk that was more discrete and sensual. A 90s flair was added by way of the over-sized coat with rounded shoulders – a look we all assumed would never come back in style.
I guess you should never say never.
