Dior Make-Up Trends: Spring 2016
The video, in french, shows Phillips discussing the inspiration into the Dior woman for the catwalk stating that “the Dior woman for spring was purposely kept as delicate and fresh as the multitude of delphinium flowers that blossomed as the decor for the show. Echoing the outfits in the collection, the eyes were soft, and the models complexion remained natural and light with cheekbones subtly highlighted with a pink-tinted blush. In this same spirit of beauty, lips were fresh and pink to lend a natural glossiness. And the nails were painted in pastel tones in harmony with the makeup.”
Beauty tutorials are the fastest growing video blogs in fashion. Millions of dedicated women follow beauty vloggers in hopes of recreating looks seen in fashion magazines. Not to be outdone, fashion designers whose catwalk shows are often the inspiration of the beauty looks seen on the covers of glossies, now offer tutorials.
In addition to the video Peter Phillips designed the beauty story for Dior’s recent Spring 2016 collection shown earlier this month.
The make up line, available on the Dior website, features a campaign from actress Jennifer Lawrence who acts as the house Muse for Dior. Recently Lawrence posed for a series of portraits for the brand shot by David Sims.
